Breakup 101 (part 1 of 3): Understanding the Situation and Your Current Emotions

Whether it is a dating relationship or a friendship, breakups often leave us feeling lost and broken. I personally feel it is healthy to give yourself the needed  time to mourn the ending of the relationship, but there is a point where we must make the decision to process our feelings in order to start moving forward with a healing heart.

As I play around with the potential outline of a self-help breakup book, I wanted to share with you some reflective questions that may help you to better understand the situation and emotions you may be facing. Above the sadness that may be wanting to set in remember that:

1. You are not the only person to face this and reaching out is okay.
2. You can and will move forward if you choose to work on it a little.
3. You are loved and valued more than you know, so do not allow one person to tear down your strength.

Find a journal and work through these questions at your own pace. It is good to write the first thing  that comes to mind, but also spend time reflecting on the questions. Sometimes deeper answers will surface, bring with them enlightening understanding you had not yet considered.

Let me know what you think of the questions in a comment below!

With love,

Ashley
